SOLO MIO FESTIVAL
A Festival of Solo Artists
Cinnabar’s Solo Mio Festival is about illuminating the compelling nature of solo performance that exists between one performer onstage and you the audience. Here’s celebrating the beauty and immediacy of theatrical story-telling.

Eat Pray Laugh
Jewish princess seeks Indian guru for one life stand |
| |
Directed by Katie Rubin
A chronicle of Alicia’s three-month solo trip across India in search of spiritual salvation – which turns out to look nothing like she imagined. From seductive French yoga teachers to scary Indian toilets, Alicia dishes on everything including the Italian fashion exporter with a Krishna fetish and mosquitoes the size of small ponies, to Chabad Jews on the Ganges and ultimately, the true meaning of mustaches and masala chai. Enjoy a delicious cup of chai (tasty Indian tea) and prasad (an offering of sweets) at each performance. |

Straight Outta Naptown:
The Bonita Mackey Story is about what happens when a small but dedicated group of fans, bloggers, collectors and zealots use modern technology to track down a cult figure from the 20th century. Bonita Mackey is unknown to most lovers of 660s and 70’s R & B music but certain people swear by her voice and her increasingly rare recordings. Is she alive? Where has she been? Does she have a story to tell? Find out for yourself!
