We Won’t Pay!
We Won’t Pay!

by Dario Fo
Translated by Ron Jenkins
Laura Jorgensen, Director

This hilarious farce, a success off Broadway and across the U.S., is set in motion when a housewife comes home with groceries she has swiped as part of a spontaneous community action where 300 women did the same. To keep her secret from her husband, she hides some of the groceries under her best friend’s raincoat. The explanation? She’s pregnant. But what does she give birth to? Olives! Hilarity ensues as the characters try to dig themselves out of their homemade holes, only making things worse and worse.

(This podcast review continues with a short review for another Sonoma County show about money.)

"Cinnabar Theater's 'We Won't Pay! We Won't Pay!' cast is agile and game, fusing the energies of the great 1950's situation comedies with the anything-goes antagonism of Jon Stewart or Steven Colbert." Click here
