SPRING SKILLS CLASSES - 2010

Happy Feet (Ages 3.5*-5)
INSTRUCTOR: Megan Watt
DETAILS: Mondays 10:00 – 11:00; March 1 through May 10
LOCATION: Cinnabar Studio
TUITION: $150
FINAL PERFORMANCE: during class on May 10.
This class is a low-key, non-threatening ‘starter course’ where young actors will learn about drama through dance, movement, imaginative play and a whole lot of fun. This class will culminate in a short presentation for family and friends, on the last day of class.
*Student must have turned 3.5 before March 1, 2010.

CREATIVE PLAY (Ages 3.5* – 5)
INSTRUCTOR: Julie Lewis
DETAILS: Mondays, 3:00 – 4:00; March 1 through May 10
LOCATION: Cinnabar Studio
TUITION: $150
Play creative games, tell stories, and experiment with songs, instruments and costumes to create a new story (or two) each week. This is a non-threatening introduction to theater, where the students choose the stories and the characters they play. This class is based on improvisational storytelling, therefore, there is no scripted performance, but Parents are invited to watch the last 5 minutes of each class to see the presentation of the story of the week!
*Student must have turned 3 ½ before March 1, 2010.

THEATER BASICS (Ages 4.5 - 6)
INSTRUCTOR: Julie Lewis
DETAILS: Mondays, 4:15 – 5:30 pm; March 1 through May 10
LOCATION: Cinnabar Studio
TUITION: $175
FINAL PERFORMANCE: During class on May 10.
More advanced students will enjoy working with a script, memorizing lines and working on a performance to ‘wow’ family and friends on the last day of class. Students should have participated in at least one prior class/production before entering this class.
*Student must have turned 4 ½ before March 1, 2010.

ACTING ONE (Ages 7 – 12)
INSTRUCTOR: Julie Lewis
DETAILS: Wednesdays 4 – 5:30; March 3 – May 12
LOCATION: Cinnabar Studio
TUITION: $175
FINAL PERFORMANCE: During class on May 12.
Young actors will gain a deeper understanding of live theater thru this class which will combine drama games other improvisational exercises with and memorized/rehearsed scenes and monologues, to give students a well-rounded theater experience.

MUSICAL THEATER (Ages 7 – 12)
INSTRUCTOR: Julie Lewis
DETAILS: Wednesdays 6:00 – 7:30; March 3 – May 12
LOCATION: Cinnabar Studio
TUITION: $175
FINAL PERFORMANCE: During class on May 12.
This class will use basic acting exercises, fundamental singing techniques and simple dance steps to give students a well rounded theatrical experience. Learn to work both alone and as part of an ensemble.
