Music Just Right for Chili and Beer!
This year's musical entertainment lineup features two Sonoma County favorites: classic rockers and Cinnabar Chili Cook-off veterans Stony Point, and Rule 5.
Stony Point, well-known to Sonoma County music fans, blends its original rock and Americana songs with classic rock and country covers by such artists as Tom Petty, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Lucinda Williams, Johnny Cash, Neil Young, Townes Van Zandt, Emmylou Harris, Little Feat, The Grateful Dead, New Riders, Traveling Wilburys, and others.
Stony Point's 2003 song Daddy Did It from their album Love and Politics was selected by Neil Young for inclusion on his website Living With War. The group has been rockin' since 1995 and includes Bustar Culberson on guitar and vocals, Rob Matteri on drums, Karen Hicks on guitar and vocals, Marc Francis on bass, and Jim Peterson on guitar, mandolin and vocals. Rule 5, an 8-piece ska band from Sonoma County, California, takes the principles of technical musicianship and merges them with the soul-wrenching goodness of rock, punk, funk, creating what can only be described as the next wave in ska music. Rule 5 is all about fast, pulsing, and upbeat music, featuring funny, creative, and unique song inspiration, and crazy, absurd, and unexpected antics. Wrap up all those adjectives into one package, and you'll find yourself right in the middle of a gyrating dance floor.
Here's a video, too!
