An extraordinary Young Rep production from the wickedly creative minds
of Conrad Bishop and Elizabeth Fuller. Follow a young brother and sister,
along with their faithful dog and duplicitous cat, on a dangerous and exciting
journey to find the Blue Bird of happiness. Along the way they meet up
with earth, water, fire and a host of other remarkable and intriguing characters.
The level of quality of this Young
Rep production is astonishing.
Sharp, poignant wit for the old
folks; fast & fun action for the kids!
The Blue Bird is adapted from L'Oiseau bleu, a 1908 play
by Maurice Maeterlinck. It premiered in 1908 at Constantin Stanislavski's
Moscow Art Theatre and has been turned into several films and a TV series.
Conrad Bishop & Elizabeth Fuller's adaptation maintains the spirit
of Maeterlinck's classic play while having an ingenious, contemporary sensibility.
