Youth in Education Award goes to Petaluma’s Cinnabar Young Repertory Theater
In 2003, the Cultural Arts Council of Sonoma County recognized Cinnabar Theater for having the finest Youth Theater arts program in the county.
The Cultural Arts Council of Sonoma County has awarded the Cinnabar Young Repertory Theater with an Arts in Education Award, citing its excellence in teaching the dramatic arts to the youth of Sonoma County. Young Rep celebrates its 20th birthday this spring; twenty years of dramatic and musical classes, summer acting camps, mainstage productions, thousands of children ages 4-18 taking classes that run the gamut from Primary Players to full productions by teens of play by Shakespeare and Gilbert and Sullivan.
The award was presented to Artistic Director Elly Lichenstein in a ceremony at Person Theater on the Sonoma State Campus. Lichenstein applauded the dedicated Cinnabar teaching staff without which there would be no program.
