Bios
David Abad (Bobby) David Abad previously appeared with Quicksilver II in A Perfect Ganesh, and has performed all over Northern California with Bus Barn Stage Company, Murphys Creek Theatre, Sierra Repertory Theatre, Entree to Murder, Theatre of All Possibilities, Imagination Central and Keyhole Mystery Theatre, and in the original cast of Are We Almost There?, San Francisco's long-running musical comedy revue about travel. He can also be seen on CRT screens as the snide Toltec Chamberlain in Maxis' CD-ROM game The Crystal Skull, starring Edward James Olmos. In his spare time, David broods darkly about weddings to which he was not invited.
Mikka Bonel (Choreographer, Frenchie) has been involved at Cinnabar since the beginning of time (hers, that is!), gaining her first experience as a very small student of voice and acting. She has since studied voice with Eileen Morris, and dance with Petaluma Ballet, Santa Rosa Junior College and London's Pineapple Studios. Her dramatic studies have been with London's Phillip Rosche and Petaluma's Deborah Eubanks. Mikka has appeared in a number of major roles in classic and contemporary theater, and has been featured dancer in modern dance and jazz concerts, as well as many operas. This is Mikka's debut as a choreographer.
Robert K. Dornaus III (Ernst) is a home grown Napa Valley resident and is honored to be part of this production of Cabaret. He most recently played Jinx in Forever Plaid, at Spreckles in Rohnert Park. He has been studying voice for the past five years and has sung at several venues throughout Northern California. He has previously studied music at Chapman University and Roosevelt University in Chicago. Some past credits include: Sam Kaplan in Street Scene, Henrik Egerman in A Little Night Music, Rolf in Sound Of Music, Gentleman Caller in The Glass Menagerie, The Magic Flute, and The Will Rogers Follies. Robbie would like to add that he loves his family very much and would like to thank them for their unconditional love and support.
Jared Emerson-Johnson (Victor) made his Cinnabar Theater debut nearly 16 years ago as a very young mouse in The Tailor of Gloucester. Since then he's appeared a cornucopia of Cinnabar productions including: The Breasts of Tiresias, The Barber of Seville, Amahl and the Night Visitors, La Bohème, The Wedding, and La Traviata. Jared has also performed with several theater companies at Cornell University in productions of The Pirates of Penzance, Patience, Sweeney Todd, The Coconuts, Candide (as the Grand Inquisitor), The Lady's Not For Burning (as Richard), Engame (as Clov), and Godot!:A Rock Opera (as Estragon). Jared most recently appeared in Sonoma City Opera's summer production of Daughter of the Regiment.
Greg Grabow (Emcee) Greg is happy to be back at Cinnabar after being seen as the Dying Traveler in last year's The Moon. He first appeared at Cinnabar seventeen years ago as Matt in The Fantasticks, with Marvin Klebe. Born and raised in Escalon California, Greg studied musical theater at Dominican University. He interned at Marin Opera under the direction of Hugo Rinaldi. Greg has appeared througout the Bay Area in several productions. He is most proud of his national accolades as Kenneth in 42nd Street Moon's Call Me Madam and appearing as Marlow with Andrea Marcovicci and Michael Devries in On a Clear Day You Can See Forever. Greg also was Sparky in Forever Plaid for Cinnabar and Hoochi doo productions. He can be heard as the Leprechaun King in Marigold and the Leprechaun King original cast recording. When not performing in musicals, Greg is the Roastmaster for Barking Dog Roasters where he produces the Jazzin' the Dog music series. Greg would like to thank all his employees at The Barking Dog for there support while rehearsing and give special thanks to Images in Motion and Arthur Binder for getting him to rehearsal. Greg would like to dedicate his performance to the loving memory of Herman and Paul Grabow, two big fans who are sorely missed.
Joan Hawley (Fräulein Schneider) is a veteran actress known to Sonoma County audiences for the past twenty-four years. This calling she shares with her other love, teaching Spanish at Casa Grande High School. She was last seen in Cinnabar's productions of Uncle Vanya, Heartbreak House, Three Tall Women and I Hate Hamlet. As a founding member of the esteemed Western Union Theatre Company, she performed memorably in productions including A Lie of the Mind, Our Country's Good, Reckless, Road, Blue Window, House of Blue Leaves, the Elephant Man, Crimes of the Heart, True West and Same Time Next Year. She was the 1994 Press Democrat's pick for Best Supporting Actress performing that year in And a Nightingale Sang, the Country Wife, and Murder in Green Meadows. Her musical credits include A Little Night Music, HMS Pinafore, Gondoliers, The Mikado, Three Penny Opera and Man of La Mancha. Joan toured Poland in 1986 as a member of TAK Theatre, helping to develop and performing in One Turn of the Wheel under the artistic guidance of Beth Craven and the late Zbigniew Cynkutis of the Polish Theatre Lab.
Elizabeth Henry (Stage Manager) makes her stage managing debut with Cabaret. she is primarily a singer, and has appeared in several operatic roles with Cinnabar. She is a proud member of the Sonoma County Chamber Singers, formerly Quire Quodlibet. She has performed in various roles and capacities with Redwood Empire Lyric Theater, Sonoma State University Opera Theater, Wine Coutnry Opera, Pacific Opera Theater, Actors' Theatre for Children, and Sonoma City Opera. She appears regularly as a solist for the Opera Ensemble of the North Bay Italian Cultural Foundation.
Emily Hough (Lulu) is thrilled to be making her debut at Cinnabar as a Kit Kat Girl. She has been active in the local theatre scene since moving back to California five years ago. Prior to that she sailed the seven seas as a professional dancer for Princess Cruises and performed in various productions shows at Disneyland and in Japan. Emily also explored the modern dance scene in Southern California while acquiring a B.A. in Dance at the University of California, Irvine. She was most recently seen in the Santa Rosa Players production of Annie Get Your Gun. She also tried her hand at choreography with the Santa Rosa Players production of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way To The Forum in which she portrayed the courtesan, Titinabula. Other favorite roles have included Cha-Cha in Grease, Electra in Gypsy, and the Apache Dancer in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Emily would like to thank her family and friends for all their support.
Kristi Jacobs (Rudy) has performed his own and others' works in a variety of petite venues throughout Sonoma county. Here at Cinnabar, his roles include a Japanese ambassador in The Nightingale, an Italian servant in Don Pasquale, the Cusser in The Moon, Farley Farley in The Chemistry of Change, and Amanuensis in The Illusion.
Chris Koval (Clifford Bradshaw) This is Chris' first performance at Cinnabar, and he is very excited to be here. He received his training in the Stanislavky System at the Bennett Theatre Lab in San Francisco. He has performed in classic and contemporary plays such as The Cherry Orchard, Dinner with Friends, and Bobby Gould in Hell. His most recent roles were that of Robert O'Hara's original plays, Leigh and Living Room, with the Asbestos Players. He would very much like to thank Phillip Bennett, Daniel Gamburg, and everyone who was involved in his amazing experience at the Lab. Lastly, he sends his gratitude out to Elly Lichenstein and everyone at Cinnabar for the opportunity to be a part of this spectacular show, Cabaret, “where everything is beautiful..the girls are beautiful...even the orchestra is beautiful!²
Wendy Leora Lawyer (Texas) has performed, taught, and choreographed in Sonoma County since 1989. She holds a BA in Dance from the University of Los Angeles, is a CMT, and owns her own business; in which she is a Happy Health Faerie (personal trainer) and a GoodWill Spellmaker. Wendy would like to thank the universe for giving her the chance to work with such a talented and fun cast, sensitive and gifted director, humorous and talented choreographer, and amazingly suave musical director. These performances are dedicated to Wendy's family, especially her little sister Emily Cornelius; who may organize the Oscars before she recieves one, but she Will eventually have her hands on that gold statue.
Cailin Maloney (Rosie) danced for ten years at Suzanne's Dance School (ballet, tap, jazz, acrobatics, point) and one year (hip hop) at the Dance Center. She has taught ballet, tap and acrobatics for two years, and was part of a competitive dance team for three. This is Cailyn's Cinnabar debut.
Brad Nierman (Max) Bradley Jon Nierman is a veteran theater war horse who started his career in Southern California in the early 70s. Brad first worked with Cinnabar on their production of Fiddler on the Roof at SSU's Person Theater. He has been involved in many productions, but this is his first time downstage of the flats at Cinnabar!
Nancy Prebilich
(Co-Director, Sally Bowles) is
an actor/director/producer/song-writer who has
worked internationally as well as in New York and
the South. Her original credits include Shadowbox
(La MaMa E.T.C., N.Y.) Hamlet; A Symphonic Adaptation
(Clarence Brown Theater, T.N.), Dha Fuzion (P.S.122,
N.Y.), Red Herring (Belgrade, Serbia), Swopera,
and Sincere Seven (Carpetbag Theater, T.N.). Her
musical compositions include Red Herring and The
Bacchae; A Communal Rite by Nobel Prize Winner,
Wole Soyinka. In addition to making music and theater,
Nancy's interests include Hip-Hop Theater,
Poetry Slams, and writing for the open mic. Since
returning home to Sonoma County last year, she
has been working with Porchlight Theater Company,
Sonoma State University, and at the Santa Rosa
High School's Art Quest Program, in addition
to her consistent work here at Cinnabar. Besides
teaching in the Youth Education Program, her Cinnabar
credits include directing the operas The Moon and
The Wedding, co-creating and performing in Laughing
At The Ritz, and playing the Alcandre in The Illusion.
Beginning this winter she will be teaching and
directing at CSU Hayward.
Christine Schisano (Fräulein Kost) is thrilled to be joining Cinnabar Theatre. She was most recently seen as a drunken Sailor in Sonoma State University's Dido and Aeneas, as well as Conrade in Much Ado About Nothing. Christine has spent the summer teaching at the Conservatory of the Arts at Presentation (CAP) in San Jose. Some past credits include Promises, Promises at Pacific Alliance Stage Company, the Stage Manager in Our Town, Taming of the Shrew, A Chorus Line, and Damn Yankees. Thanks to family and friends who put up with her madness!
Lizzi Sell (Helga), a sixteen-year-old Petaluma High School student, has been appearing with Cinnabar's Young Repertory Theater for eight years, tackling such roles as Ruth in Pirates of Penzance, Phyllis in Iolanthe, and Rosaline in Love's Labour's Lost. She has also taken classes in vocal and acting technique. Recently she studied with San Fracnsico Shakespeare Festival, playing Desdemona (Othello) and Olivia (Twelfth Night). Her next stop is Berkeley Rep, where she will be performing in A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Dwayne Stincelli (Herr
Schultz) has performed
with several companies at Cinnabar over the years,
most notably, The First Stage Company, Quicksilver
II and Cinnabar Opera, in such shows as Tomfoolery,
Jacques Brel is Alive..., Berlin to Broadway with
Kurt Weill, Cole, Fascinating Rhythms, The Impresario,
Sweeney Todd, Lettice and Lovage, We Won't
Pay! We Won't Pay!, the Road to Mecca and
Griffelkin. He currently serves on the Board of
Directors for the new Sixth Street Playhouse, where
he has performed and directed for both Actors Theatre
ad Santa Rosa Players, directing Annie Get Your
gun, The Sound of Music, I Hate Hamlet, Snoopy,
A Christmas Carol, What the Butler Saw, and Poona
the F@#k Dog. He has performed lead roles in Snoopy,
Guys and Dolls, The Fantasticks, Gypsy, Damn Yankees,
Camelot, Company, Escanaba in da Moonlight, The
Rivals, Moon Over Buffalo and The Sound of Music.
At Spreckels he appeared in last season's
Promises! Promises! and has been featured as Herr
Drosselmeyer in The Nutcracker with Ballet Califia
and Ballet California.
Robert Young (Music Director) has been accompanying
soloists and choruses professionally for over twenty-five
years. He has studied organ with David Britton
and John Fenstermaker, and holds both the Colleague
and Associate performance certificates from the
American Guild of Organists. He currently serves
St. Patrick's Church in Kenwood, CA as organist/choirmaster.
He played the organ part in Faure's "Requiem" with
the Santa Rosa Symphony, and has been the pianist
for a number of concerts with the Napa Symphony.
Performances have taken him to Edinburgh, Toronto,
Tokyo, and Osaka playing wind instruments as well
as piano. He currently plays saxophones, cornet,
and/or piano with the Black Diamond Blue Five,
the Usonia Jazz Band, Clint Baker's Cafe Borrone
All-stars, Tom Sharpsteen's Orlandos, and
the legendary Eldorado Syncopators. He is an active
autominologist.
