Bluebeard? A Young Rep musical? You betcha! But this Bluebeard will leave you rolling in the aisles rather than gaping in horror. Bluebeard has just discovered his sixth wife in Boulotte, a feisty peasant girl. But no sooner has he wed once again than a shepherdess (actually, a princess in disguise) captures his fervid attention. She in turn is in love with another shepherd who turns out to be a prince. The two young royals are reunited when Bluebeard shows up, claiming that Boulotte has just died and he is now free to marry the princess. But, aha! Popolani, the alchemist charged with disposing of Bluebeard's past wives, has carefully preserved all six alive - and that's only the beginning! Hilarious characters, social satire and, of course, Offenbach's brilliant music all make this show a winner.
