Weill’s remarkable career spanned twenty eventful years, from Hitler’s Germany, where Weill achieved fame by thirty, to Roosevelt’s U.S. where he became a renowned master of the Broadway musical. Along the way, he created some of the most popular and daring musical theater pieces of his day, collaborating with a dazzling array of literary giants including Bertolt Brecht, Langston Hughes, Maxwell Andersen, Alan Jay Lerner and Ira Gershwin, and blurring the boundary between “serious” and “popular” music. This thrilling evening features songs from Happy End, Lady In The Dark, One Touch Of Venus, Street Scene, Lost In The Stars and of course, Weill’s masterpiece, The Threepenny Opera. This is an evening of some of the greatest theater music ever written. Gorge yourself!
