Dylan Cooper
Co-Volunteer of the Month - August
Why Volunteer of the Month?
Dylan was the volunteer assistant for the youngest children’s camp this past summer at Camp Cinnabar. She was invaluable helping with the children, doing arts and crafts, running errands and being a general slave to the cause. A fine young actress in her own right, it is great to see Dylan reaching out to support the little ones coming up after her. Thank you, Dylan!
About Dylan
Dylan was born in Hayward, but was raised in Newark and Petaluma, so she is a “born and bred” California girl. She has just started 9th grade at Marin School of the Arts, her focus is, of course, theater. She is a self-described “fulltime goofball,” and those of us who know her will attest to the truth of that assessment. She describes her family thusly: Mom (lovely), Dad (hilarious), Zane (11), Jack (6), Nessa (she’s a bunny). Her hobbies and interests include drinking chocolate milk, cutting eyes out of magazines, dancing in the rain and, of course, Cinnabar! Dylan will be appearing in the Young Rep production of The Tailor of Gloucester this holiday season.
Dylan and Cinnabar
What was your first experience with Cinnabar?
“I started doing classes and workshops when I was seven. Since then, I’ve been attending everything I can at Cinnabar.”
Why did you come to the Young Rep?
“My mom thought I had too much energy around the house. I pretty much worship it. I love being in shows at Cinnabar and I have been in productions since I was 10. I love the Chili cook-off and I attend it every year. Both of my brothers are starting to get involved. I have so many friends that I would never have met if I hadn’t been in a show, and it’s a great way for me to get my emotions and energy out (instead of by annoying my parents and brothers).” |

Kailey Hewitt
Co-Volunteer of the Month - August
Why Volunteer of the Month?
Kailey was the volunteer assistant for the Camp B children’s camp this past summer at Camp Cinnabar. She was invaluable helping with the children, doing arts and crafts, running errands and being a general slave to the cause. A fine young musical actress in her own right, it is great to see Kailey reaching out to support the little ones coming up after her. Thank you, Kailey!
About Kailey
Miss Kailey was born San Mateo, raised for awhile in Millbrae, then off to Minnesota, then back to California in Rohnert Park. She attended Gold Ridge Elementary and Creekside Middle School and is currently a freshman at St. Vincent’s High in Petaluma. Kailey is the only child of her parents, Denise and David. (Denise is a very active member of the Cinnabar Parent Guild.) Kailey enjoys reading, singing, acting and, strangely enough for a teenager, hanging out with friends. Kailey will be appearing as Simpkin in the Young Rep production of The Tailor of Gloucester this holiday season.
Kailey and Cinnabar
What was your first experience with Cinnabar?
“I took musical theater classes when I was six years old. Then I did summer camp at age eight.” Kailey has been a part of the Young Rep ever since.
Why did you come to the Young Rep?
“I’ve always loved to be on stage. To me, it is the greatest feeling in the world. I’ve done six years of shows here, including summer camps, Christmas shows, Shakepeare and operettas. Cinnabar is my home away from home. My whole family is involved with it. We have all become better people because of Cinnabar.” |
