Ethan Burrell
Volunteer of the Month - June 2006
Why Volunteer of the Month?
Ethan Burrell, a seven year-old member of Cinnabar Young Rep and son of restaurateurs Bernadette and Peter Burrell, was anxious to show his appreciation for the fun he has had as a “Young Reptile.” So he took it upon himself to stage a raffle at this year’s Great Petaluma Chili Cookoff, Salsa and Beer Tasting. He made his own sign and went from person to person selling raffle tickets for the chance to win a dinner for two at the fabulous Dempsey’s Restaurant and Brewery. He thought it up, organized it and executed it all on his own and earned an extra $49 for Cinnabar Young Rep. What an amazing example of community spirit!
About Ethan
Ethan Burrell was born in Petaluma, California on October 27, 1998 and has been here his whole life. He is starting the second grade at Sonoma Country Day School in the fall. His favorite class is P.E. where he especially enjoys soccer.
Beside his mom and dad, other family members include a dog named Rusty and a cat named Lucy. Ethan also has lots of sheep and chickens to keep him company!
In addition to taking drama classes and performing with Cinnabar Young Rep, Ethan enjoys playing the violin, inventing things (such as a little battle car) and playing with electric trains.
Ethan and Cinnabar
Ethan’s first experiences with Cinnabar were acting classes with Rick Eldredge, Mikka Bonel and Nancy Prebilich. He came to Cinnabar because he loves theatre and watching plays. He is currently busy with “O Little Brother Where Art Thou” at Camp Cinnabar!
From his involvement in Cinnabar Young Rep, Ethan learned a lot of great songs, how to put on a play and how to work as a team. Perhaps most important, he has met some great new friends.
What has been his favorite experience so far with the Young Rep? Doing the play The Cowboy Way last summer. Ethan loves acting and wants to continue. |
