Volunteer for November 2006
Anthy O'Brien
Why Volunteer of the Month?
Anthy O’Brien, newest member of the Cinnabar Board of Trustees, has already proven herself to be a dynamic addition to our theater. In November, Cinnabar introduced the first ever “Taste of Petaluma” which was a tremendous success for both Cinnabar and our community. As a kind of “sergeant at arms” for TOP leaders Laura Sunday and Trudee Herman, Anthy was everywhere that day, coordinating the volunteers and making sure everyone was where they should be, at the right time and with the necessary materials. The event ran like a fine Swiss watch and in no small part to the amazing volunteer efforts of this incredibly energetic and organized woman. Thank you, Anthy!
About Anthy
Anthy O’Brien is a “born and bred” California girl. Born and raised in Oakland, Anthy attended UC Davis, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Child Development. Interestingly, life has led her to a career outside of her field of study, and Anthy is now the President/CEO of Top Speed Data Communications, an Independent Telephone Company broker. Top Speed designs, orders and implements data, voice and wireless networks for businesses.
Anthy is married to Don O’Brien, himself a generous Cinnabar benefactor: he painted our fading building and restored it to its glorious cinnabar color. Together they enjoy a blended family of six children and seven grandchildren. (So far!)
In addition to attending theater, Anthy enjoys sewing, as well as hiking, kayaking, and cycling (which explains why she’s in such great shape!)
Anthy and Cinnabar
“I met Elly (Lichenstein, the Executive/Artistic Director of Cinnabar) years ago through the Petaluma Chamber of Commerce. Then I went to see Marvin Klebe et al in Man of La Mancha at the Phoenix Theater (years ago) and I was hooked! |
